This would have to be one of our top favourite picture books. It is such a classic all time favourite of many children. There’s adventure throughout many different landscapes. It has rhythm and repetition which ensures children and parents are engaged within the story. I love reading this story to my children and we especially love the ending with its face paced thrill. The illustrations by Helen Oxenbury are also delightful. This picture book is definitely one for your collection.
