The Realm of Everchange

by Myles

The region I gaze upon, a Forest of Whispers lay.

There are colossal streams of lava flowing where the ancient villagers roamed, but the fiery volcanoes are all out of steam; smouldering away like a half lit fire. I usually start in the same area, by the ferocious dragon’s lair where I have imagined climbing on his scaly back and viewing my lands afar. Then my mind travels along the horse-ridden tracks, down the red rock path towards The Eastern Peaks: an area of jagged mountains and dense forest. It is just a part of The Realm of Everchange: a place where the terrain is almost all different. In this world I have discovered: a shining river where phoenixes rest their wings; a Barren Plain that allows nearly no plants to grow; endless canyons ready to swallow you whole; geysers erupting with the coldest steam. It is the same in some places, but mostly different.

When the sun shines, that’s when I read, filling my head with creative ideas. At moon high, when it’s dark, I rest my weary head and imagine the world that I have created. I have one friend there, a scaly, fire-breathing dragon called Norbert.

In the day I control everything that happens there. I would hunt for wild animals, feast upon the golden apples that grow on the branches of the trees growing in the Forest of Whispers, then I wade in the River of Tranquillity to cool off. You would love it there!

At sundown, I watch everything roam, imagining the world that I have dreamt of. I fly over my world and there, it’s exciting as can be. Work in The Ash Domain thrives, I fly from dusk till dawn on Norbert’s back, and usually explorers travel The Barren Plain in search of ruins; how exhilarating it is to find relics of a lost civilization!

If only you could be there with me, you would love it. I would take you sledding on the ice, sand boarding in the dunes and scale the rock faces of the mountains. You would have the most amazing time. It’ll leave you seeking more adventures.

I have found in my land that adventures can be found at every corner.
